The “Administration Approved” episode was fucking brilliant. Thank you – truly. I feel like I haven’t laughed out loud at a TV show all year, but your hilarious, sarcastic, and biting writing was sublime. Stewdlebug’s oppressed demeanour was so perfectly realised that I couldn’t help but laugh – loud and often. I’ve re-watched the episode several times, and it never fails to make me laugh.
It’s so perfectly layered. The contrast between the “bloviating, bloated orange ball of narcissism” (with thanks to Sir Bob) and America’s genuinely talented orators, thinkers and activists – without even needing to name them – was exquisite. And the pivot into a sharp thoughtful study on the very real consequences of limiting free speech elevated the episode far beyond comedy. It was not only funny but intelligent, creative and deeply needed.
There are honestly no words big enough to express how fucking creative brave and intelligent this episode was. Thank you for daring to make it, and for reminding us that satire at its best is truth with a grin.
